Dear Managers,

A very late summary - I've only recently got round to trying again to
solve this problem!

Original question:

> Has anyone out there successfully built gnu-R for Tru64 5.1 pk3? I'm
> failing to do so myself, and I'd value some help!

Several people answered but Tim Cutts had the key - he asked me what
version of the curses library I was attempting to link against. My
problem was that, although I had a recent enough version of ncurses
installed, the link failed. This turned out to be because the
./configure step had foubnd the COMPAQ/HP default curses library and
tried to use that rather than the newer ncurses. It took me a long
time to work this out, but one I moved the default library out of the
way, configure found ncurses and the link succeeded.

Thanks to all who answered!

Regards,

Andrew
