I could not edit a file on nfs

Hello admin

I have mounted a nfs partition of a remote equipment, but when I attempt to
edit a file with vi editor, the session is blocked.

The definition of the the partition in / etc/ exports of the remote
equipment is:

/apps/ aplicacion - root= 0

and are mounted in the local equipment from the /etc/fstab like:

remote:/apps/aplicacion /apps/aplicacion nfs rw,bg 0 0

That could it be passing?

Alpha ES40
Partition type is Advanced File System.
