Netscape4.79+Acrobat Reader plugin 4.0

Greetings to All:

I'm having some strange behavior when trying to view PDF files in
netscape 4.79 using acrobat reader plugin 4.0 . This was working fine
up until a few days ago, I don't know what has changed or what could be
causing this to occur.

When opening a pdf file in netscape, the acrobat splash screen opens,
but the PDF file is never displayed. I do not receive any errors
regarding this. I have double checked and the plugin is enabled
in the browser. has anyone else seen this issue and if so, does anyone
know of any possible solutions?
