I still have not gotten the problem corrected but I have an idea as to
the cause from the help I got. Thanks to John Farmer, Richard Loken and
Alan Rollow for replies
Richard and Alan both pointed to limitations on the backplane
controllers of older models which limit you to 32gbs on device sizes. I
believe this to be the case as Richard spoke of this being a known issue
with some 4100 configurations.
This really causes a problem for what I was attempting to do.
