Admins,

My appreciation to all have responded and offered help.

This from /var/adm/messages indicates the card is there and the kernel
is built with support for it.

Dec 3 17:04:13 pbsambk vmunix: isp0 at pci0 slot 14
Dec 3 17:04:13 pbsambk vmunix: isp0: QLOGIC ISP1040B/V2 - Differential
Mode
Dec 3 17:04:13 pbsambk vmunix: isp0: Firmware revision 5.57 (loaded by
console)
Dec 3 17:04:13 pbsambk vmunix: isp0: Fast RAM timing enabled.
Dec 3 17:04:13 pbsambk vmunix: scsi2 at isp0 slot 0

Additionally I had made one foolish blunder. I had failed to create the
device files and they were not restored from the backup (?!). So I
fixed that issue, reboot, still nothing... So...

 From the SRM prompt...
>>> show dev
dqa0.0.13.0 DQA0
dqb0.1.13.0 DQb0
dqb1.1.13.0 DQb1
dva0.0.0.0 DVA0
ewa0.0.9.0 EWA0
ewa0.0.11.0 EWB0
pka0.7.0.14.0 PKA0
>>> show PKA0
>>>

This leads me to believe that I have an additional hardware issue.

Also Dr. Tom Blinn pointed out that I was not very verbose about the
external storage device which I was not. This is an older storage
shelf, circa 2000 with 6 18.2 Gb drives, raid 5.

Also the external storage is not shared between the production machine
and the backup box.

I do not have a spare cable.

I am guessing the slot at the top of the pedestal is the array
controller? Is there a trick to getting the drives out of this cabinet?
Thanks very much all. I fear I will need a technician on site to look
at this.

Mark
