I received two additional answers from Rich Copeland:

You summary was lacking. The basic cable to do what you want to do is a
6 conductor flat cable with a MMJ at one end and a RJ12 at the other
(note the RJ12 is just like the standard phone RJ11 connector except it
has 6 pins instead of 4) when you construct the cable you must reverse
the heads from end to end making it act like a null modem and it will
work. If you put the head incorrect it will not come up so just cut off
one of the heads and install a new way turned over the other way. We
have never put any kind of collar on any of our cables and they have
always worked just fine. Hope this makes more sense than the summary
answer. Have a great day!

And Robert Collins:

You will need a BC16E cable and them knock the tab off of the end that you
are plugging into the HSZ. Either that or cut off that end and have your
network folks crip a rj45 connector on the end that goes in the HSZ, taking
care not to change the cable configuration. The BC16E is a crossover
(null-modem) type cable. The connection can be made a few different ways
but this is the easiest.

Original message:

I have a vt320 which just has 2 MMJ(modified modular
jacks) serial connections on the rear.
What cables and adapter(s) do I need attach this vt320
to an HSZ80 controller maintenance port?
