Hello Managers
We have two Alpha4100 servers on a Trucluster ver 1.6
environment with four RA3000 Raid boxes, out of which
two are base pedestal modules with HSZ22 controller
and remaining two are expansion modules without
controllers. The operating system running on these
systems is Tru64 ver 4.0F.
Our Plan:
----------
Remove the old 4.3GB disks and put back new 36GB.
We removed device rzf128c(4.3GB) from the lsm,removed
physically and also replaced with a new disk and
carried out subdisk creation, plex creation and volume
creation and also created the service.Now the clients
are able to access the new disk without any problem.
Problem:
--------
Same above procedure we carried out for device rzd128c
and rze128c, we are facing the problem at the new disk
initialization.After inserting the disk I am able to
read and label the device.
Once if I start voldiskadd at command line It is
quitting with this error:
Initialize a disk
Menu: LogicstorageManager/Disk/AddDisk
Initialization of disk device rzd128c failed.
Error:
/dev/rrzd128c is an invalid device or cannot be
opened.
Also one of the RA3000 box is not responding(Hanging)
for disklabel read requests and it is not connecting
to command console(SWCC), this happened during
synchronising of the plexes in a volume and It come
out without attaching the plex.
My questions:
Is the system is holding old information and also why
the RAID box is hanging after the above procedure.
