Problem with a backup disk : the story is not finished

Hello Managers,

Of course all the links are correct in the /etc/fdmns because the /usr file
system is mounted without any problem and the correct disk flashes.

I've tried several things this week-end :

1) Reinstall a system from scratch on a disk. It's Ok.
2) Use this disk as backup of the current system. When it boots same message
with

> msfs_mount: The mount device does not match the linked device.
> Check linked device in /etc/fdmns/domain
> msfs_mount: Setting root device name to root_device RW

3) Print AdvFS Administration manual for 5.1b and follow whats is described
on page 6-31 to 6-33 (by the way there is a - missing in 7e for vrestore).
It works quite fine.
Reboot the system on the newdisk and the failure is still there.

4) From a running system, mount the backup disk sauvroot-domain#root on the
mnt. It works fine.

5) do /sbin/advfs/fixfdmn on this backup disk : no problem

6) Reboot the backup disk and the problem is still there.

7) in single user mode , try the /sbin/mountroot command which is called by
bcheckrc. This is the one who gives the error messages.

So it's quite difficult to know where the information is kept on a former
disk. One more thing in sysconfig -q io there are 2 lines with root_dev and
root_hardware_id. But theses 2 parameters should be dynamically set, I
think.

Regards

Daniel
