Hi All,
This is slightly off topic on SAN. In the new Compaq SAN installation,
I'm facing following problem in configuring Network View 2.0B Software:
a) Configuration of SAN Hardware:

-Dual HSG80 Controller with ACS 8.7S configured in
      Mirrored Cache and Multibus Failover
-10 Mirrorsets of 20*72 GB 15K RPM HDDs for 10 servers
     - 9 Win2K Servers and one SUN Server are configured
for NSPOF using dual HBAs and dual 16 Port (2GB)EL
       Switch(P.No.- 283056-B21).
     - SAN Appliance (P.No.:189715-002) is connected with
       both switches.

b) Configuration of Software:

     - Securepath 4.0 is installed in all the Win2K
servers with SP2 & Securepath 3.1a with Patch is
       installed in Win2K SP3 Servers

- Network View 2.0B is installed in SAN APPLIANCE

- EVM 2.0D for server is installed in SAN APPLIANCE

- SAN APPLIANCE OSM 1.0 upgraded with HP OpenView 2.0

Problem faced:

a) Network View doesn't show the above mentioned 16 Port EL
Switches. It displays only SAN APPLIANCE and HSG80 dual controllers as
standalone units (w/o connectivity). EL Switch Kernel is 5.3.1, Fabric
OS is V3.0.2K

b) Various combinations of Software configuration are tried but
only one combination worked that too without proper display i.e.-
Configuring Network View 2.0B and EVM on SAN APPLIANCE before upgrading
OSM 1.0 with HP OpenView 2.0. While all other options i.e.-Upgrading OSM
with HP OpenView2.0 before configuring Network View and EVM or
installing patches of Network View and SMAV2 SP3 etc gives following
error while opening the Network View Window:

Event Service Connection Error
Event Viewer
Failed to connect event Service
Reason:
Access Denied (Java.net.SocketPermission 192.5.2.20 connect Resolve)

Application Configuration
Failed to connect to Discovery Service
Reason:
Access Denied (Java.net.SocketPermission 192.5.2.20:1060 connect
Resolve)

Application Configuration
Failed to Connect to Alert Notification Service
Reason:
Access Denied (Java.net.SocketPermission 192.5.2.20:1060 connect
Resolve)

Cannot reach N/W data via RMI! Is the NM Server Running

No IP Address are configured for discovery

After this error, there is no way I can open the Network View Window.
Only option left is to Restore the Whole SAN APPLIANCE with Restore CD.

Solution Required:

What is the best way to configure Network View 2.0B on SAN APPLIANCE
with all the SAN components seen on the Network View Screen?

TIA
