adding disks to AS4000 that has a KZPSC

I have an AS4000 Tru64 V4.0d as a dedicated application server.
(Yes it is old, but we are limited by requirements of the
application provider.)

It is a production server.

It has a KZPSC-XA controller driving a 6 disk RAID5 set of
RZ28's and a JBOD RZ29 where Tru64 lives, all in 1 shelf.

I would like to change the Tru64 disk to either mirrored
or RAID5 for a degree of fault tolerance.

The shelf is full but this pedestal unit has space to add
a shelf where Tru64 could live.

>From other posts, I have read the KZPSC is either a single
channel or 3 channel controller.

Can I use the KZPSC to drive both the original and the new
shelf ? If not, can I add a 2nd KZPSC for the 2nd shelf.

Of course, advice on what pitfalls may be encountered is
more than welcome.

TIA
