Thank you to Lawrie Smith for this information!
A cluster can have multiple aliases (as many as needed). An alias is
defined by an IP address - not by DNS names. The IP set up when you create
the cluster is known as the "default alias". You can create another alias
with a new IP via the cluster alias facility.
An advantage of this method is that you can use caa to provide (or restrict)
certain network services to each individual alias. You can also define a
cluster alias to include only a subset of the servers in the default
cluster.
I was also directed to the "Managing the Cluster Alias Subsystem" chapter of
the TruCluster Admin manual. It's a wealth of information.
