SUMMARY: Which version of tru64?

WOW!! What a huge number of responses within just an hour! General
consensus is that 5.1a at the latest patch kit is very reliable and stable.
Standard support for 5.1a will be until 2/28/2005.

And depending on hardware and software dependancies, 5.1b has not gotten any
negative coments, either. Patchkit 1 came out in January. Support will be
"at least until 2011". It looks like some new cool features are
introduced - caa uptime statistics being my favorite! I was warned,
however, to take a close look at the hardware retirements.

Since we are running TruCluster, if we decide to go all the way, we will
have to update to 5.1a first before moving to 5.1b - but this can be done
within a single rolling upgrade. If we were not running TruCluster, we
could go directly from 5.1 to 5.1b.
