Thanks to Alan Rollow, Charles Ballowe, David Stacks, Dr. Thomas Blinn, John
James, Bryan Williams, Jon Rowell, Stan Horwitz, and Nikola Milutinovic for
their responses. I went ahead as some of you suggested and installed the
Java Developers Kit from the OS CD.

# mount -t cdfs /dev/disk/cdrom1c /mnt
# cd /mnt/Tru64_UNIX/kit
# setld -l /mnt/Tru64_UNIX/kit OSFJAVADEV510

I then had one of our Oracle DBA's execute jar xvf filename.jar and it
exracted the files.

Thanks again,

Chris Bryant

Ok, I check /usr/opt/java118/bin and there is no jar file there. I also
checked /usr/.smdb./*inv and saw that the Java Development Environment
needed to be installed which it is not on my machine. Now, can I install
this directly from the OS CD or can I download this off of HP's web sit.

TIA,

Chris

Admins,

        I have a GS140 running 5.1A patchkit #4. Our DBA's are tying to
execute jar -xvf file.jar which they got from oracle. I do not seem to find
where a jar executable exists. Could anybody tell me what I need to
do/install/setup to get this working?

TIA,
