Dear all,

I've just had a small shock. The PAKs file I was sent as a
Digital/Compaq/HP partner in 2002 contained a license for OSF-BASE set
to expire on 4th April 2003!

Proof:
#
#
$my_lmf delete OSF-BASE
#
$my_lmf register - << =\EOF=
                Licensed Software Product
                Product Authorization Key

Enter data on lines terminated with :

                 Issuer: DEC
   Authorization Number: ASP-IL-2002MAR20-328
           Product Name: OSF-BASE
               Producer: DEC

        Number of units: 0

                Version:
   Product Release Date:

   Key Termination Date: 04-APR-2003

Availability Table Code:
    Activity Table Code: CONSTANT=100

            Key Options:
          Product Token: $ASAP
            Hardware-Id:
               Checksum: [omitted]

Because the shell script which installs the PAKs deletes the current
one I've just noticed that I have to re-enter OSF-BASE on each and
every Alpha on the network.

This is quite amazing, clearly the 2003 set does not contain OSF-BASE
(and it shouldn't as it is shipped with the system!).

Arrigo
