Nis Service Problem

Hi Gurus,

I've setup a highly available disk Nis Service in Tru64 V4.0F and ASE
V1.6, with two members, that is configured in this way:

A disk service that is mounted in /nis, and contains all the
structure below /var/yp.
        A link from /var/yp to /nis.
If the node is running the service is configured as master, if
not is configured as client.
A action script that uses the script /var/ase/examples_supported
to start and stop the service and reconfigures the server as Nis master
or client.
The passwd, group and prpasswd maps are being distributed.

This processes are running on the Nis master:

22703 ?? I < 0:12.74 /usr/sbin/rpc.yppasswdd
/var/yp/src/passwd /var/yp/src/prpasswd -m passwd prpasswd
22786 ?? S < 3:51.70 /usr/sbin/ypserv -a b
22966 ?? I < 0:00.02 /usr/sbin/ypbind -s -S
domainname,servicename

And the problem is:

In one node, which is the node that was used to create the service, if I
run the usermod everything works fine, but when the service is relocated
to the other node and the same command is run I get the following
message:

usermod: Unable to update the master database. Not on NIS Master
machine.

Why? Any hints?

Many Thanks,
Pedro Cunha.
