Hello admins,

I have Alpha server 2100, 2 cpus, 1 (512MB) memory board, running
Tru64Unix 5.1
I wanted to increase the memory by adding 2 extra memory boards (each
one is 512MB) exactly the same part number as the one installed.

Here is what I get:
1.When adding the 2 extra boards, the memory tests pass, one of them
says it is "1-way" intlv mode, the others say "2-way", when trying to
boot the system, it just stops booting at the line when it says "ibus
at nexus 0"
2. Taking one of the boards out (so the system now has total of 2 mem
boards), the system boots fine and everything is normal.
3. Taking the original mem module out and inserting the two extra ones
in (for a total of 2 memory boards in), everything boots fine and
normal.
4. Inserting more memory modules for a total of 4 mem modules, the
system stops booting at the point mentioned above.

FYI: The system originally had 1 memory module and was working fine.
I have tried to insert a total of 3 mem modules and trying toboot
from /genvmunix, the boot stops.
The system now is working fine with total of 2 mem modules.

Did anyone experienced this before?, Did I miss something?

Any comments will be appriciated

Thanks

-MKMA
