Tru64 5.01 & 4.0D
I keep running into trouble when I am installing new software or
trying to update it. The cause of most of the frustration is the search
path for the shared libraires and include file. I, like most others
Tru64ers, have /usr/shlib /lib /usr/lib /usr/ccs/lib set. Trouble is most
of the new software that gets installed installs to /usr/local/lib and
/usr/local/include. Sometimes it is ok to create symlinks from
/usr/shlib to files in /usr/local/lib..etc. But I would really like to have
something more permanent. I have tried setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH
as an environment variable;
root (/src/) % set
LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/shlib,/usr/local/lib
argv ()
cwd /src/XML-Simple-1.08
fignore .o
filec
gid 1
history 50
home /
ignoreeof
noclobber...snip
But still I stil get errors that file(s) I know reside in /usr/local/lib are
not available. Indeed Perl -V shows:
Linker and Libraries:
ld='ld', ldflags =''
libpth=/usr/shlib /lib /usr/lib /usr/ccs/lib
Is there some more parmanent way to get /usr/local/..etc into my
LD_LIBRARY_PATH?
