Is there a way of updating the hardware database ?

Tru64 UNIX 5.1a

When I have presented a disk to the system I didn't assign an IDENT number
to the device.

Therefore under "hwmgr -v d " I get ...........

root@avon:/home/bboddy >hwmgr -v d
HWID: Device Name Mfg Model Location

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

--
    6: /dev/dmapi/dmapi
    7: /dev/scp_scsi
    8: /dev/kevm
   57: /dev/disk/floppy0c 3.5in floppy fdi0-unit-0
   62: /dev/disk/dsk0c COMPAQ BD009122BA bus-0-targ-0-lun-0
   63: /dev/disk/dsk1c COMPAQ BD009122C6 bus-0-targ-1-lun-0
   64: /dev/disk/dsk2c COMPAQ BD009122C6 bus-0-targ-2-lun-0
   65: /dev/disk/dsk3c DEC HSG80 bus-1-targ-1-lun-0
   68: /dev/disk/dsk6c DEC HSG80 bus-1-targ-1-lun-100
I now want to assign an IDENT number for this device, so that it would look
something like .............
root@avon:/home/bboddy >hwmgr -v d
HWID: Device Name Mfg Model Location

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
    6: /dev/dmapi/dmapi
    7: /dev/scp_scsi
    8: /dev/kevm
   57: /dev/disk/floppy0c 3.5in floppy fdi0-unit-0
   62: /dev/disk/dsk0c COMPAQ BD009122BA bus-0-targ-0-lun-0
   63: /dev/disk/dsk1c COMPAQ BD009122C6 bus-0-targ-1-lun-0
   64: /dev/disk/dsk2c COMPAQ BD009122C6 bus-0-targ-2-lun-0
   65: /dev/disk/dsk3c DEC HSG80 bus-1-targ-1-lun-0
   68: /dev/disk/dsk6c DEC HSG80 IDENTIFIER=123
The only way I can thing of to do this would be to delete the HWID with
dsfmgr and recreate it again. However to do this I would have to unmount any
file systems attached which I can't do.
Is there anyway I can do this dynamically ?
Regards
Bill
