SUMMARY: using tga0/PBXGB-AA card with TFT5600

Well,
after some playing I've got it up.. I had to manually edit
Xservers and force the res to 1024x768 which seems to have done the trick using
the line

  :0 Local local@console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -screen0 1024x768 -vsync0 60

Still not as crisp as my other displays but good enough...

Apologies for bandwidth usage

--------------------------ORIGINAL QUESTION---------------------------------

Hi
I've got a couple of ES40's with the following card in them

tga0: depth 8, map size 2MB, 800x600
tga0: ZLXp2-E, Revision: 34

sizer -v
ZLX-p2-EV5

>From what I can glean I believe this card has its settings done via jumpers...
I'm guessing I may need to do this as currently the TFT to which these boxes are
connected (a TFT5600 from Compaq, P/N 221546-31) does not work under X. It
claims that the mode the X server is trying to set is not supported. I've not
tinkered with any of the X server configs and the TFT seems to work fine on my
other boxes (comet card and p3g0 card). Do I need to change the jumpers on these
TGA cards to get them to work with my TFT. The quickspecs for the TFT say there
are some limitations and support issues but do not identify them...

I'm using CDE as my windowing enviroment and the Xserver line is simply (from
/usr/dt/config/Xservers)

  :0 Local local@console /usr/bin/X11/X :0

Has anyone got these working with a TFT5600?

any pointers appreciated...

Adam.
