TruCluster Tricks?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had worked out either of these before I tried
to re-invent the wheel. The environment is a TruCluster 5.1 three node
cluster.

1. Run FlexLM as a cluster service, with the license server MAC address
tied to the vMAC for the cluster service? I've been thinking about trying
to do this. The vMAC fails between systems with the service, presumably
giving you the avility to fail the license server between nodes. I know
that FlexLM has the ability to run in a 'triad' and do some fail-over,
but we've seen some problems with this approach.

2. Know how to, programatically, tell the difference between services
failing between nodes, and the same service coming up on a fully rebooted
cluster (all nodes having been shut down). I'd like to collect some
uptime statistics, with the baseline rule being that as long as a node
is up -- the cluster is up. Just not sure how to differentiate between
a service restart becuase it was targerted as being online when the
cluster starts up and when the service fails between nodes.

Thanks in advance,

Tom
