SUMMARY: Hardware choice?

Thanks for the responses that seemed to confirm my thoughts regarding the
ES45 with scalability by clustering vs. vertically scaled GS80. Some points
that were brought up by people that I hadn't thought of included the
maintenance contracts being very expensive on the GS line vs. the ES line.
It was also suggested that I look at the ES47 and ES80, though Compaq/HP's
web site doesn't seem to mention them yet.

While digging, I did find this site which discusses some pre-configured
systems
that seem like a good start for ES45 type clusters (As they're pretty close
to
what I would have spec'd myself).

I'm going to present my thoughts to the actual decision makers tomarrow and
see what they say. Hopefully they'll at least bounce it off of the leasing
company to see what the numbers look like. (Why isn't price put on the
website
for the big hardware?)

Thanks for the answers,
-charlie
