SUMMARY: Question on ping

The consensus is that this is best done at the router/switch
or with a firewall. Olle Bjorck offered the following idea:

In sysconfig (under inet) raise icmp_rejectcodemask to 256

inet:
     icmp_rejectcodemask=256
