 ehlo all:)

i asked about default smtp server, wondering,
(as a matter of fact i gone crazy, it was
a really bad moment to write a mail;-))
if it is possible to stop the MTA and use
a system wide default smtp server.
it of course cant be done.
i would like to thank the following people:
Glenn Harrison <glennharrison@amcorp.com.au>
Nikolai <BldrxJ@netscape.net>
who suggeted to run MTA not listening on any port [1]
with "sendmail -q 15m" [1] and update the
smart host entry in sendmail.cf [1],[2] to
my smtp server, using:
DS dog.foo.org [2]
thanx!!!

pg

P.S.
there is a nice "mailconf -ui gui" way of
configuring the mail system.
