Hello,
We have what we believe to be a software image for a Decserver700 on a dat
tape. We usually use vrestore and vdump respectively for restore and
backup purposes. In this instance vrestore won't read the file after the
dat drive has been mounted and an ls -l of /dev/rmt0h shows :-
crw-rw-rw- 1 root system 9,5122 Nov 16 2000 /dev/rmt0h
I have tried cp /dev/rmt0h* . and a file is copied approximately 1.2
MBytes in size to the specified directory but it does not appear to have
the filename I would have thought it should be, also on uploading it to
the Decserver700 does not appear to work.
Any suggestions on how I can read and extract this file would be welcomed.
