Removing LSM from root disk

Various systems (ES40s 5.1 and 5.1a, ES45s with 5.1a no clustering)
After having some major LSM issues last week (the kind that involves working
with HP support for 17 hours on Thanksgiving), we have decided to remove LSM
from our boot disks on all our systems. I was just wondering what the proper
procedure for this is...after LSM issues last week, I'm quite terrified to mess
anything up. Let me explain what I've done, and want removed.

All servers were installed with Tru64, and during the setup process I checked
the "use LSM" in the part where you setup the disk partitions. After the
install was done I went ahead and did a "volrootmir -a dsk2" to mirror the boot
disk with disk2 I never did a "volencap" (but I believe we do have some systems
around that had the volencap run).

I want to remove LSM from the boot disk...but still want LSM on the system
(other system disks are mirrored with it as well as all of our Informix database
disks are sliced up with LSM).

So if anyone could point me to a procedure (or a section in a particular book)I
would really really appreciate it (I would look through my books, but I'm not
at work right now...and once I'm there I will only get two hours to remove LSM
from one of the systems). TIA
