Thanks to all who replied. The solution is quite
straightforward:

should be able to do dfsmgr -m tape7 tape5
this should move it. (you may have to delete the hwmgr
entry for tape5
first:
#>hwmgr -sho scsi
to get the hwid
#>hwmgr -del comp -id <hwid from sho scsi>
then you can do the dsfmgr -m as above.
