Changing a unix device name

Hello all,
  I just changed replaced the tape drived connected to
my alpha box, running tru64 v5.1. Naturally, the
device name has changed from /dev/ntape/tape5 to
/dev/ntape/tape7. I was wondring if there was anyway
to change the device name of the new tape drive back,
since i won't be using the old one on this server
anymore.
