Strange IP address problem

Hi guys, I have here a wierd problem on my hands. I am
trying to change the IP address for an ES40, and I
keep having a wierd problem. Basically, when I go
through sysman, deconfigure the adapter, and then
reconfigure, it keeps the new ip. If I reboot the
server however, it comes up with two addresses, the
new one, and the one I removed earlier. Any
suggestions as to getting this problem out of the way
would be most welcome
