Hi,

I'm about to install four DE20E boxes and I need to stick to Tru64 4.0x.
For testing, I've installed 4.0f and found that the DE600 on the
3X-DEPVZ-AA combi controller (NIC, Ethernet, Video) as well as the
graphics board is not directly supported by the base OS. I needed to
install the latest patch kit 7 (BL18) to get support for these devices
and the adaptec controller still causes some warnings during bootstrap:

PCI device at bus 0, slot 6, function 0 could not be configured:
Vendor ID 0x9004, Device ID 0x7895, Base class 0x1, Sub class 0x0 Sub-VID 0x9005
has no matching entry in the PCI option table
PCI device at bus 0, slot 6, function 1 could not be configured:
Vendor ID 0x9004, Device ID 0x7895, Base class 0x1, Sub class 0x0 Sub-VID 0x9005
has no matching entry in the PCI option table

I don't need the adaptec and just want to avoid these warnings during
bootstrap because they might worry the final customer of the boxes.

Question: Is the DS20E and the above mentioned config better supported by
Tru64 4.0G ?? Will the DE600 and the graphics controller be supported by
the BASE OS or do I still need to install patches to get support for them?
And what about the adaptec in 4.0g?

Thanks // Tom
