thanx to Toni Harbaugh-Blackford for providing me with very useful help and
guiding me to patches plus a new version which fixes another problem i
had...
compile ipfilter and install. then load modules manually:
make osf
make install-osf
sysconfig -c ipfilter (my original problem)
"ipnat" and "ipf" commands now work as advertised. i got this running under
DUNIX 5.1 and 5.1A succesfully with minor source hacks to make it compile
(but that is probably my own old build environment), DUNIX 5.1 compiled
without a hitch.
new version i used was: http://coombs.anu.edu.au/~avalon/ipf40a24.tar.gz

i compiled and installed it but i keep getting a User/Kernel version error?
what else do i have to do to get it working? there doesnt seem to be any
docs on the tru64 port.
