Thanks to all who replied.
The consensus is that yes Redhat will run on Alpha, as well as Suse and a
few others. As far as the 1200 is concerned I think that only RH6.2 will
run on it. According to Rehats web site the only certify 7 and higher and
only on the ES and DS series of processors.
