Large migration of data

All,

Rather than a specific technical question I just want to suggest an idea
for data migration that I'm thinking of using and get your views.

Currently we have about 1TB of data on a V5.1 GS140 spread over 28
filedomains averaging from 18gb to 90gb in size. This is an Oracle system
and I'm migrating to an EMC SAN architecture - down time is difficult to
get on this system and rather than take the outage to vdump and then
restore the data I was thinking I could add the new diskspace into each
domain (will be equivalent size or bigger) and then "rmvol" the old disk
thus migrating all the data to the new disk. Any ideas ?

Regards
