Greetings Tru64 Managers -
Since we upgraded to Tru64 5.1a, we have been experiencing random FTP
failures when we FTP files over 100 Meg from a remote server that is located
outside our local network. These FTP jobs processed on Tru64 4.0f for
months without incident. Using the same source computer and network, the
FTP jobs fail approximately 3 to 4 times a week when we FTP to the Tru64
5.1a server. When we FTP to a Tru64 4.0F server, the FTP jobs run without
incident.
We are running Tru64 5.1a PK1 on an 8 x 8 GS/140. We tried capturing the
transmissions with a sniffer to performed network analysis. All we can see
is the connection was broken - but we can't determine where the problem is
occurring. Our only conclusion is the FTP jobs run without incident on
Tru64 4.0f.
We didn't have a problem before we upgraded to Tru64 5.1a and this FTP job
runs without incident on older servers that are still running 4.0f.
What is different about the 5.1a FTP program that can cause this type of
random problem?
