I received very informative replies.Thanks goes to Phil Richardson,Pat
O,brian,Lee Brewer,William H. Magill ,Greg Freemyer and Don.
Some important points to note
* Firmware version of HSG80s should support Snapshot and firmware
upgrade is not very economical.
* There is difference between Snapshot and Clones
* URL for doc

http://www.tru64unix.compaq.com/docs/best_practices/BP_SNAPSHOT/TITLE.HTM

Overall it doesn't seem to be an easliy doable solution and there have been
some cases of Data Corruption (I think this is enough for the management to
say NO)
Now I have to think for some other means to take online backup for Oracle
Database.
Any way thanks to all who responded and spend their precious time in
replying.This list is wonderful.
