Problem when trying to send mail within Oracle 8i

Hello Managers,

My database manager is in relationship with Oracle CSC on this problem
but since 6 weeks the response time is not quite good.

I'm sure that somebody has encountered and resolved this problem.

We're running Oracle 8.1.7 on a Tru64 5.1a system.

We get the error ORA-03113 every time we try to use the java procedure
to send
an email (smtp-connection) (button email in the form, then button 'send'
in
the window)
It produces a message in the alert file and generates a trace file,
often empty
though.

It's possible to send mail from this computer with mailx so it seems
that it's not a Tru64 mail configuration problem.
