Sorry guys, its more sendmail than tru64 really (but
kind of hard to get answers from sendmail.comp.mail..
somehow dis-organized, and have struggled with this
bout 2days now)
But, my problem is with sendmail........building from
scratch 8.12.3 (first time building from scratch)
Status: Everything seems to work OK...except for:
sending email to a host on same domain, without fully
qualifying it, fails with error message:
DSN: Host unknown (Name Server: A.my.domain: host not
found)
sendmail is completing the host names with my.domain
instead of our real domain.
testing sendmail with echo '$=m'|/new/sendmail -bt
-d0.4 works OK....recognizes every option as it
should..(ie. correct short name, canonical domain
name, subdomain name and node name)...but still
sending mail to host A@B (Domain being C.com) tries to
go to A@my.domain thus failing!! Using fully qualified
name..eg. A@B.C.com, works.
I have enabled define (`confDOMAIN_NAME', `A.B.C.com')
FEATURE(`always_add_domain') .....but problem still
the same. I must be missing something so obvious here,
but what?
Looking for keyword to add to sendmail.mc
running on 4.0g
Help point out my mistake, and again., sorry for
posting here. I tried other means first....
