OffTopic: HPs roadmap for HPQ...

This worries me greatly, having used both HP-UX and Tru64. HP-UX was
unstable, unreliable and generally unsatisfactory (in 1998) as compared with
Digital unix 4 (in 1999) and tru64 is even better.

The price / performance of HP hardware was no where near that of Digital
(now Compaq) hardware. Quite what I'm going to recommend to management is
yet to be determined. Who else do you turn to? Sun? Don't think so. We have
received many approaches from IBM wanting to cash in on disgruntled Compaq /
Digital customers.

I just hope my Compaq hardware lasts another few more years until this is
all sorted out.

IMHO
