SUMMARY: NFS message in /var/adm/messages

Thanks to Selden Ball, Dr. Thomas Blinn, David Ross, and Blake Brehl for
their reponses. It was Dr. Blinn's response that seem to answer best:

Sounds like the client has a stale file handle; was the server rebooted
since the last time the client was rebooted? Find the client system and
reboot it, and the messages should go away.

Unfortunitly I cannot reboot this server at will. I will have to
schedule a reboot.

Thanks again,

-----Original Message-----

Admins,

        I have a Tru64 5.1 pk #3 system that I set up as a nfs server.
This server, once a month will export 2 clone file sets to a client system
to copy files from the server to the client. I keep getting a message in
/var/adm/messages about every 10 min or so, here is the message

May 3 07:52:34 dollar3 vmunix: NFS server: fs(3465,576453) not mounted,
RFS3_FSSTAT, client address = 158.146.12.75

where dollar3 is my NFS server. I have 2 questions: 1. Is this message
benign? 2. If so, how do I stop the logging of this if I am only going to
use this nfs mount once a month? I will summarize.

TIA,

Chris Bryant
