i have a really strange problem. its oracle related
but i'm using vnc virtual desktop, solaris 8 and i
wonder if i can fool it in unix, or if anyone has any
experience of it.
What it is is that the oracle 9ias rel 2 reports
server outputs a little gui box on the desktop. i'm
running it on a headless server which has a fake
display created via vnc.
When i type the reports startup command it ONLY works
if i'm LOOKING at the virtual desktop at that time and
then i click the line box that appears to get the full
window up. If i go the virtual desktop after i type
the command or not at all the reports server does not
work.
Is there a way i can get the box to come it
automatically on solaris and not come with the
hovering placement window it comes up with ? Or maybe
is there something i can do in my script to execute it
within the gui from my console (if that makes sense
?).
