Accessing the same disks with a second server (read-only) in Orac le

Dear Friends,

I need to setup a second server (to run reports) generated from a production
Oracle database. The production server (Solaris 2.6, Oracle 8i) will access
the database in rw mode and the reporting server (Solaris 8, Oracle8i)
should be able to access the same storage in read only mode. The storage is
Hitachi Data Systems 9660. Oracle runs over filesystems (not raw devices).

My question is what product I could use to allow this setup to function (if
possible). I investigated Sun QFS, which allow the read only server to
follow the file system consistency (by sending metadata via LAN to the
reporting server), but I'm not sure I Oracle on reporting server will
"comprehend" that another instance is modifying its data files.

Do you know about a working solution helping me to achieve that ?

I also considered Hitachi's Business Copy (to create a read only copy of the
DB in the same array, but I run into same issues of letting the reporting
system understand another system is modifying it's file system.

Any ideas?

Met vriendelijke groeten / Kind regards,
