SUMMARY II: What is pseudo-device tod0?

Hi again,

Turns out that my problem was a known bug in Solaris 2.6. Here were my
symptoms and Sun's workaround.

The problem might be precipitated by patch 105181-33, but the folks at
Sun wouldn't attest to that. It might also be related to having veritas
running on your system.

/etc/rcS.d/S50drvconfig hangs when trying to boot. If you boot normally,
the last thing you see is "Configuring the /devices directory." If you
boot -v the last thing you see is "tod0 is /pseudo/tod0."

The kernel is running out of kernel symbol table space. You need to
increase the kernel's kobj_map_space_len variable in /etc/system:

set kobj_map_space_len=0x400000

This problem has come up on this list before, but I thought I'd add
another instance in order to increase the next person's odds on google.
