Syslogging Cisco equipments

Hi folks,

I'm running into a problem with syslogging Cisco equipment onto Sun
server.

The situation is as follows:

1. Cisco network device will syslog to a Sun server in the DMZ

2. Sun server is dual-homed and will forward syslog events to the prod
Linux syslog server

3. Generate events on the Cisco device, but nothing is recorded by Sun

4. Snoop indicates that syslog packets do reach the Sun server, but the
don't make it into the log

5. The packet appears to be an incomplete syslog event (header is
complete but the actual message is truncated). Since it's a UDP packet,
I'm not sure what happens if the entire log entry is not received.

Has anyone configure similar type of setup with the following equipment?

Cisco 6509, Sun Netra T (Solaris 8)

TIA, Dan
