Hi,
while edting /etc/inittab file, I saw line like this
p3:s1234:powerfail:/usr/sbin/shutdown -y -i5 -g0 >/dev/msglog 2<>/dev/msglog
what is the meaing for this. 2<> /dev/msglog .
I know following things.
< input file
> output file
2> error file
but I don't know meaing for 2<> /dev/msglog.
why they are using msglog device file here? What it will do.
bash-2.03$ ls -l /dev/msglog
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 33 Dec 3 12:31 /dev/msglog ->
../devices/
pseudo/sysmsg@0:msglog
bash-2.03$ ls -lL /dev/msglog
crw------- 1 root sys 97, 1 Jan 29 10:18 /dev/msglog
Thanks
SR
