Hi List,
I'm using ufsdump to create a backup of the /usr/local filesystem (also for
/ and /var but they work fine).
When using the ufsdump command I get errors like below. If I unmount and run
an fsck to check the filesystem
fsck will return errors. I've had this problem on two different machine
(V880 and a Netra T1) both on the /usr/local
filesystem.
For one system the first counple of times I ran ufsdump on /usr/local
everything went fine, then ufsdump came with
this error. The other system gave the errors the first time I ran ufsdump
and after repairing the filesystem with
fsck ufsdump runs fine (at least until now).
Both machines run Solaris 8 (2/02) en have Solstice DiskSuite 4.2.1 (patch
-12) installed.
The /, /var and /usr/local filesystems are mirrored.
The filesystems are not unmounted for the backup, but this shouldn't be a
problem (messing up the filesystem).
