sshd weirdness

sshd PID is 315 --the process starts ok, but when /etc/init.d/sshd stop
I keeps getting some other PID "no such process" --well of course there's
no such process because sshd is not that particular PID. Why is the
script returning "PID: no such process"? --I practically copy/paste the
script from the sunfreeware.com homepage on how to install openssh3.5p1.

This happens all the time, the daemon stops and some weird PID pops up.
sshd works just fine, but it's annoying seeing all these PID. openssh
works on another server just fine w/out the error message/s.

bash-2.03# /etc/init.d/sshd stop
kill: 341: no such process

Any clues as where I need to look??? (have uninstall and re-install)

Thanks.

- Mike
