Migrating NIS+ root master to new hardware

Very shortly I am going to move our NIS+ root master from a Sun Ultra1 ,
running Solaris 8 , with latest
recommended and security patches to a Sun Blade 100 , also running
Solaris 8 , with latest
recommended and security patches.

I am considering the following approach :

Shutdown NIS+ on the root master and all replicas

Copy /var/nis from the existing root master to the new root master

do 'sys-unconfig' on the existing root master , and shut it down

do sys-unconfig on the new root master , and then reconfigure it with
the
hostname and IP address of the old root master

The above is an overview only.

Any comments/experiences appreciated.
