Some general, best-practice questions about patches

Hi,

I have some best-practice questions about patching Solaris systems.
It seems there have been a lot of changes since I did this and I just
wanted a sanity check.

I've just upgraded from Solaris 7 to 8. What is the recommended order of
applying patches now? Would it be Maintenance Update and then
8_Recommended?

Also, what's the difference between "Recommended Patch Clusters" and
"Recommended and Security Patches"? Is one a subset of the other?

Same questions for "Recommended and Security Patches" and
"Security T-patches"?

In the "old days" there were just the big "Recommended" patch kits.
Now we've got Recommended Patch Clusters, Recommended and Security
Patches, Security T-Patches , and Maintenance Updates. Isn't this
a bit much? How many of them do we need until we're fully patched?
Or at least reasonably patched?

Other than the CLUSTER_README file in the cluster kit, is there any general
patch documentation that describes all the different patch kit types?

Thanks a lot.
