That was FAST!!!!
Thank you all who replied. Here are some replies.
Sun has this doc at
http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=content/content2&ttl=article
Below is some explanation.
Hi Jim
Count 2 numbers for each cpu board then io board in turn
so
cpu board io board
Board 0 0 1 Board 1 2 3
Board 2 4 5 Board 3 6 7
Board 3 8 9 Board 5 a b (goes to hexadecimal after 9)
Board 4 c d Board 7 e f
This is where the sbus@ number comes from
So
/sbus@2,0/SUNW,socal@d,10000/sf@0,0 (sf0) is off IO board 1
and
/sbus@a,0/SUNW,socal@d,10000/sf@0,0 (sf2) is off IO board 5
The next part is socal@d
Socal@d is the onboard GBIC so look for a connection at board level.
Any more info needed I am your Girl!!!
Regards
Julie
Here's my original request:

Subject: Enterprise Server Paths interpretation
Can some one direct me to a site/document, etc... on how to interpret those
funky Sun loooong ids to a real hardware?
I'm currently experiencing Fibre Channel challenges and I did see a couple
messages regarding some device, but have no clue.
Here are two samples
/sbus@2,0/SUNW,socal@d,10000/sf@0,0 (sf0)
/sbus@a,0/SUNW,socal@d,10000/sf@0,0 (sf2)
And of course couple days ago I had a panic reboot.
E4500 Solaris 7
Thank you in advance for your help.
PS: I did find an interesting site with a tech note on how to read, but it's
not entirely helpful since it's not the E4500.
