Strange DNS problems.

My systems are setup using the address space of 172.16.23.0 to 172.16.23.255
(subnet mask 255.255.255.0). The Linksys router (between the system and the
cable modem) has an internal address of 172.16.23.1 and is NAT-ing my
private network. I am not running DNS but have external DNS servers in the
/etc/resolv.conf file. I am running Solaris 8 with the latest resolver
patches....

The /etc/nodename file contains: www.MyReefs.com
The /etc/hosts file contains: 172.16.23.254 www.MyReefs.com
The /etc/defaultrouter file contains: 172.16.23.1
There is no /etc/defaultdomain file.
There is no "domain" entry in the /etc/resolv.conf file.

When I perform a nslookup (or anything else performs a DNS lookup), it
appends my domain (MyReefs.com) onto the end of the site I am searching for,
and of course, that fails.

For example, when I perform a nslookup of www.yahoo.com, I get the
following:
---------------------------
nslookup www.yahoo.com
Server: dns1.rr.com
Address: 24.30.200.3

Name: www.yahoo.com.MyReefs.com
Served by:

          com
- J.GTLD-SERVERS.NET
          192.48.79.30
          com
---------------------------

Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks.
