The problem turned out to be a faulty configuration file. The xauth binary
is assumed be located at /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth. On Solaris it's at
/usr/openwin/bin/xauth. The XAuthLocation directive in the sshd_config file
takes care of this.

I did have the proper X11 forwarding value in sshd_config, as Steve Maher
mentioned, but I forgot to mention that in my original email.
